Ignacio Ananías focuses his practice on Criminal and Civil Litigation. He has participated in multiple criminal proceedings as well as in important arbitration cases principally linked to energy resources and transportation.
He previously worked as a researcher of the Master’s Program of the Department of Criminal Sciences at the Universidad de Chile and as an associate attorney at Bofill Mir & Álvarez Jana. He was also an external advisor of the Ministry of Economy.
He received law degree (J.D. equivalent) from the Universidad de Chile, graduating from that house of studies with highest honors.
Since 2012 he has been a Visiting Professor of Criminal Law at the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez and an assistant in the same area of law at the Universidad de Chile.
Ignacio Ananías was an advisor to the commission designated by the Government for the drafting of a preliminary project for a new criminal code.
He published the articles “Prohibición de Regreso”, in Revista de Estudios de la Justicia, Number 13, Centro de Estudio de la Justicia, Law Faculty of the Universidad de Chile (2010) and “El comiso de ganancias”, in Revista de Estudios de la Justicia, No. 21, Centro de Estudio de la Justicia, Law Faculty of the Universidad de Chile (2015).
He is a member of the Chilean Bar Association.
