Francisco Aninat’s practice focuses on the resolution of national and international disputes, specifically in civil, environmental, and antitrust matters. Currently, at an international level, he is involved in litigation in various Latin American jurisdictions and in international arbitration.
He has vast experience in litigation for contractual and tort liability, as well as environmental law, recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments, antitrust law, and consumer protection law. He has participated in multiple judicial proceedings before Argentine, Ecuadoran, and American courts, and in international arbitrations. He also has experience in corporate and real estate matters.
Before joining Bofill Escobar as partner, he worked for more than five years at Barros Letelier & Gonzalez, for two years at Aninat & Cía., and for four years at Jones Day as a member of its Global Disputes practice in the Washington D.C. office. Additionally, in 2009 Francisco worked at the World Bank as legal fellow on consumer financial regulation matters.
Francisco is an attorney who graduated from the University of Chile and obtained a Master’s Degree in Public Policy (M.P.P.) from the University of Chicago. He also possesses a post graduate diploma in Economics and Finance for Attorneys from the Economics and Business School of the University of Chile.
He has been a speaker at two conferences of the American Bar Association, International Law Section (Miami, September 2012, and London, November 2013) on matters related to the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitration awards.
He is a member of the Chilean Bar Association; of the American Bar Association, International Law Section; of the International Center for Dispute Resolution of the American Arbitration Association; and of Young Arbitrators’ Forum of the International Chamber of Commerce.
